Currently, Indonesia is being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic which causes panic all levels of Indonesian society. This also has an impact on education in Indonesia from a face-to-face learning system to an online learning system . Apart from the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesia is also prone to earthquakes. This is because Indonesia is built on a combination of various micro-continental plates and volcanic arcs that are driven by complex tectonic processes so that the collision of tens of these plates causes the formation of various types of faults scattered in various places.
Indonesia has earthquake-prone zones along areas close to the interaction area of tectonic plates, such as on the south coast of Java and the west coast of Sumatra. West Sumatra is one of the areas in Indonesia that is frequently hit by earthquakes, including the Pesisir Selatan district. People who don’t know how to deal with earthquakes will make things worse because earthquakes are bound to happen but cannot be predicted.
An earthquake is an event that shakes the earth due to the sudden release of energy in the earth which is marked by the breaking of rock layers in the earth’s crust which causes many casualties. preparedness, responsiveness and skills in anticipating disasters early. In order to reduce the impact of the earthquake, it is necessary to have mitigation by increasing knowledge and understanding about disasters through education.
Education in Indonesia is required to develop the skills needed by students in the current era of globalization and in areas where students live that are prone to earthquakes. Through disaster education in schools, students can understand the actions to be taken before, during and after an earthquake. The implementation of education about the risk of natural disasters in the form of earthquakes in the curriculum is very helpful in increasing disaster knowledge and awareness of students about earthquake disasters so that they are able to take appropriate action when an earthquake occurs.

Physics learning is expected to be able to explain various events that occur in nature so that students can take appropriate steps when problems occur in their environment such as earthquakes. Meanwhile, educators can create a learning resource by integrating earthquake disaster materials into the online learning process by utilizing the sophistication of currently available technology.
Physics learning should adopt 21st century learning. 21st century learning is learning that integrates attitude skills, knowledge and skills as well as mastery of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Physics learning is currently following the development of the 21st century. This 21st century allows information and communication systems to copy the physical world into the virtual world in line with the current covid-19 pandemic.
